Kauno Tiltai has been synonymous with expertise in infrastructure construction for over 70 years. As one of the leading construction companies in the Baltics, with more than 1,000 employees, the company has consistently upheld a high standard of quality, particularly in road and asphalt construction. With its own mixing plants, specialized teams, and a modern fleet of machinery, Kauno Tiltai maintains control over all processes across the value chain.
In 2024, Kauno Tiltai launched a groundbreaking pilot project in collaboration with Q Point and ERCO Technologies to digitize its asphalt processes. The goal was not only to explore the theoretical potential of digital solutions but to prove real-world efficiency gains in practice.
The project focused on the applications Q Plant, Q Site, and Q Transport from Q Point. Q Plant was integrated into one of the mixing plants to support digital production planning. Simultaneously, Q Site was deployed on construction sites to improve planning, coordination, and communication at the operational level.
Q Transport complemented the system with digital logistics management.
The implementation was carried out in close collaboration with the Q Point project team. Within just a few weeks, all systems were installed on-site, and training was completed. The configuration was tailored specifically to Kauno Tiltai’s needs, ensuring a seamless transition to new processes.

Even during the training phase, the immediate benefits of the new solutions became apparent. Feedback from the team was clear: thanks to optimized workflows, each team gained two to three additional productive hours per week right from the start. The new digital tools also delivered enhanced planning capabilities, end-to-end process transparency, and real-time, uninterrupted data exchange. Everyone involved, from dispatchers and site managers to foremen, benefits from a consistent and unified flow of information.
Q Point solutions have fundamentally changed the way we work every day. We now have access to information on production, transport and orders anytime and anywhere, which allows us to make decisions immediately. As a result, the processes have become much faster and more precise. It is particularly important that site managers, paver drivers and truck drivers can use the application via app directly on their smartphones – without any calls or additional coordination. Communication between the sites and the production bases runs more smoothly, errors have noticeably decreased and work organization is much more efficient. The app is a real work tool that saves time and allows everyone to work together as a well-rehearsed, coordinated team.
Director of Production and Mechanization
Following the successful conclusion of the pilot project in late 2024, Kauno Tiltai decided to roll out the solution to all asphalt teams and a second mixing plant. As a further step in digital transformation, an interface was developed between Q Plant and the Microsoft Axapta ERP system. This allows existing data from Axapta to be directly utilized within Q Plant, significantly reducing the number of manual entries and improving data consistency.
Since implementation, complete project planning and order processing for both mixing plants is carried out directly in Q Site. Based on this, the production program and supply chain are automatically organized in Q Plant. As soon as a truck leaves the plant, all relevant delivery information is sent not only to the driver but also directly to the responsible site manager and foreman. With real-time updates on their mobile devices, they can prepare the paving process precisely and adapt flexibly. Waiting times and interruptions on the construction site can thus be effectively avoided

The pilot project marked a major milestone in Kauno Tiltai’s digital transformation journey. The rapid implementation, immediate added value, and strong team acceptance demonstrate the powerful potential of modern digital solutions in road construction. By fully integrating operational processes with commercial systems, the company has succeeded in significantly increasing efficiency and establishing a new standard of project execution. The experience gained forms the foundation for the broader roll-out. With this step, Kauno Tiltai is not only embracing modern technology but actively shaping the digital future of road construction in the Baltics.
